There is a military cemetery now, near the stadium in Sarajevo. In a no-man’s land, in the middle way, between the playing field and a cemetery some boys are playing football, forcing their legs to run away from unbearable past. Looking through epitaphs, dates of birth and premature death of thousands of people, it’s like meeting those who were already not there, and who you couldn’t know while they were alive. But it’s also like to see a football match through thicket of high grass covering this tormented earth, where this unspeakable sorrow had happened. That one who scoring a goal has a hope in his eyes for a better future; it’s like a blade of grass breaking through cement, gaining little by little through the cracks of a cobblestone road, in a Country where the memory of the past doesn’t kill desire for better future.
